I simultaneously read multiple books. Here is what I am enjoying right now.
There is a lot going on in this book, but it's amazing. It takes awhile just to read a few pages because there are drawings and side notes on almost every page! But it's fun and very intelligent.
Have you read The Cheese Monkeys? If not, READ IT! Then read it 100 more times until you almost don't want to read it anymore but you can't stop just because it is so good! Then buy this book at a discounted price and enjoy.
This was a suggested book in the poetry section at my favorite neighborhood bookstore. I was looking for a gift for a friend and bought this one because all the suggestion card said was, "It should be against the law to write poetry this good." Also, I have a fixation on deer.
All I have to say is I am about to read it for a second time and if anyone ever wanted to know what the inside of me is like when I am going through a crippling depressed/manic period... Well, read this.
I don't know how you can ever have a Vonnegut book in the Bargain book section, it just feel sacrilegious or something. But, lo and behold, that is just where I found this gem. I've only read the introduction, but I must say, I am full of complete awe and love for this man.
I have also very recently finished In Cold Blood, which, if you have deprived yourself of this literary classic you must go to wherever you choose to get books and pick this up now! Amazing, captivating and horrific. You will not be disappointed.
And,
I found this not too long ago at the before-mentioned bookstore in the bargain section as well. I love anything that deals with writers speaking their mind during wartime under dictatorship and children during wartime and this book has both. It is also written by a woman who was one of those writers unafraid to speak her mind during dictatorship. 1+2+3=Love.
I swear, I need to post a picture depicting the amount of books strewn all over this apartment. And we even have a bookshelf now!
