I want to go, I want to go, I want to go there too.

2. Thank God for family.

I would like to make the point that family, is the fucking best. No matter what, they have to accept you for who you are and love you and be there for you. I mean, you're blood. They can't fuck you over, because lets face it, it's a gene pool, and God forbid they shun you and get stuck with offspring that ends up with your traits. This can happen just by allowing a cousin to watch said offspring in a cart at the grocery store ;)

Family is always there for you, that is why I dedicate this post to my dear cousin Helen. In my time of need she lied to me and tricked me (which, let's face it. Families are usually built on these two things alone. Lies and trickery.), and then sent me a big box of clothes. <3 I may never wear some of them, yet will cherish them always, and there are some that I love and have worn already. A vintage dress with carriages? I will take that any day. Semi-boxy, 1960'sish, mini dresses? Duh. Also, a classic cut, black number, in my favorite material that I like to refer to as "slut" but is more commonly known as a polyester/spandex blend? YES! I love it! (Also, I use slut as a term of endearment, like how my friend Clayton uses "bitch". I refer to myself as a slut, but I also went to catholic school, sooooooo)

Helen,
While you will be getting a much more formal thank you that is not written under the influence of cheap wine, I thank you. I hope you realize how funny and genuine I am being in this post. Unlike my boyfriend, who as I read this to, yells at me for being bitchy. Boys. I love and deeply appreciate it all. I wore this dress featured to work today and everyone loved it. I especially love it! Thank you thank you thank you. Love you,
SMN

  1. Aw, now I'm tearing up! I'm seriously delighted to hear that you're getting some fun out of the clothes. If you can't exercise your rights as a grocery-cart fairy godmother now and again, what fun is that? The pink dress looks smashing, as I knew it would. ("Slut" is the perfect name for that black fabric, btw.) Oh, and the burgundy satin thing was on the road to becoming doll clothes before it ended up in my hands, so if it seems like it should be part of a project of some sort, you may be fulfilling its destiny.

Loved the post. If that's being bitchy, then girl, you be as bitchy as you want, anytime. I'm so pleased that lies and trickery came to such a delightful end!

    Much love,
    Helen
